President and Chief Executive Officer

Eddy Pirard, a Belgian national, was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer in 2017. JTI, a 红包电玩城 and vaping company, operates in over 130 counties with over 45,000 employees worldwide. 

After graduating with a Business degree from Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in Belgium in 1985, he joined P&G and worked on the integration of Richardson Vicks. Eddy went on to study for an MBA at Harvard Business School, graduating in 1991. He then joined McKinsey & Co, where he specialized in fast moving consumer goods and worked across a wide range of disciplines and industries in both Europe and the US. 

In 1996, Eddy moved to the 红包电玩城 sector, heading Business Development at Gallaher Group Plc, an international FTSE 100 company, based in the UK.  After a two year period outside of the Company, co-founding a start-up business in the e-commerce sector, he returned to Gallaher in 2002 to successfully lead the cigar and other 红包电玩城 products division. 

Following the acquisition of Gallaher by JT Group (listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange) in 2007, Eddy was promoted to President of the UK and Ireland region, and then in 2010, his remit grew to become Regional President for Western Europe, where he was instrumental in growing the business in 13 markets. 

In 2014, Eddy became the global Head of Business Development, leading significant M&A and expansion activity, as well as spearheading JTI’s entry into the vaping market, with the acquisitions of the brands E-Lites and Logic. 

Since April 2017, when Eddy was promoted to the role of President and CEO of JTI, he has led the expansion of the business, growing from 27,000 to over 45,000 employees, concluding 5 major acquisitions - including 3 in Asia, as well as leading the transformation of JTI, with in excess of $1bn investment into products that have reduced-risk potential. 

Separately to JTI’s commercial activities, Eddy is the President of the JTI Foundation, an organization whose mission is to help less privileged people and victims of natural or man-made disasters improve their quality of life.  He is also a member of the Governance Council of HEC Liege, his alma mater.

Koji Shimayoshi is a Japanese national, appointed to his current role in January 2020.

A career in 红包电玩城

Koji joined our parent company JT (Japan 红包电玩城) in 1993. After holding a series of management positions, he became Director of the Manufacturing Division in 2005, then moved to the 红包电玩城 Business Planning Division, 红包电玩城 Business Headquarters in 2007, where he was promoted to Senior Director in 2008.

In 2012 he was made Vice President of Human Resources and subsequently appointed Senior Vice President, Human Resources in 2015. He then returned to the 红包电玩城 Business Planning Division, 红包电玩城 Business Headquarters in January 2017, as the Senior Vice President, Business Development & Corporate Strategy, before moving to JTI’s headquarters in Geneva in October 2017.

Koji holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering, Metal Science and Technology from Kyoto University.

Chief Operating Officer

Roland Kostantos was appointed Chief Operating Officer in April 2017. He is responsible for all business operations and performance of JTI.

Experience
Roland brings a wealth of operations and financial experience to his role. A Canadian and Greek national, in 2009 he was appointed Excom member to the position of Senior Vice President Finance, Information Technology and Chief Financial Officer. In April 2017, he was appointed Chief Operating and Financial Officer, holding these joint responsibilities until October 2018.

Before this, Roland held various headquarter finance positions including the role of Vice President Finance, Corporate Controller, a position which he held from 2006 and Chief Financial Officer for the Europe Region, to which he was appointed in 2002. In 1998, he moved to Geneva as Vice President, Financial Planning and Analysis. 

Roland was appointed Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of RJR-Macdonald Inc. in 1996. He held a number of positions in the company before this, having joined in 1987. 

Roland is Chartered Professional Accountant, Canada, earning his designation in 1985 while he was with the accounting and audit service firm Clarkson Gordon, now Ernst & Young. He holds an Honors Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada.

Vassilis Vovos

Senior Vice President, Finance, IT, and Chief Financial Officer

Vassilis Vovos was appointed to his current position in October 2018. 

Experience 
Vassilis has a wealth of experience from a diverse and wide-ranging professional background. A Greek national, he became JTI’s Regional President of Western Europe in 2014, after having joined the Executive Committee as Regional President for Central Europe in 2010. He had served as the General Manager of France from 2002. Before that, he has served as Vice President, Marketing and Sales for Europe in the Geneva headquarters. 

Prior to this, Vassilis had been a key member of the R.J. Reynolds International team. He was Vice President for Marketing and Strategic Planning for the Southern Europe and Northern Africa region, based in Paris as of 1997.

He was appointed Marketing Director of R.J. Reynolds International Greece in 1995, having begun his career there in 1991, holding various positions in the Brand Marketing department.   

Vassilis holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Thessalonica Polytechnic School in Greece, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Illinois in Chicago, United States.

Howard Parks, an American national, was appointed Senior Vice President of People and Culture in February 2016.

Howard began his career in 1982 at R.J. Reynolds 红包电玩城 Co. in Research & Development and moved to his first marketing position in 1984.

In 1991, Howard assumed his first international position as Marketing Director for Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Mexico.

After holding various positions in the Americas region, Howard relocated to Geneva in 1995 and in 1998 he took over the lead of the Research & Development function.

From 2000 to 2005, Howard held various senior positions in Consumer & Trade Marketing. He was then appointed as the Regional Consumer & Trade Marketing lead for the Europe Region, followed by the Western & Southern Europe / Baltics Region. In 2010, he was appointed to the position of Chief Brand Officer, before being promoted to Senior Vice President of Consumer & Trade Marketing.

In his current role as Senior Vice of People and Culture, Howard also oversees both Corporate Security and Compliance functions within JTI.

Howard studied at the Fuqua School of Business (Duke University) where he obtained a Master's in Business Administration, in addition to a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington and Lee University.

Daniel Torras is a Spanish national, appointed Senior Vice President Reduced-Risk Products in October 2017.

Daniel started his career with us in 1997 as Brand Manager in Kazakhstan. He progressed through a number of consumer and marketing positions in Ukraine, Russia, Japan and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region, before moving to our head office in Geneva to take up the role of Global Sponsorship.

In 2008, Daniel was appointed General Manager of the UK market. He was then appointed to the position of General Manager of the Iberia markets in 2011, before returning to the UK in 2014 to resume the role of General Manager.

In 2016, Daniel was promoted to the Executive Committee as a Regional President for the Central Europe region.

Previous experience

Daniel began his career as a management trainee at Philip Morris International.

Daniel holds a Master’s Degree in International Economics and Management from the University of Bocconi (Italy) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the European University (Spain and France).

In her current position as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, Suzanne’s responsibilities include Corporate Communications, Fiscal Affairs & Anti-Illicit Trade, Corporate Sustainability, and Public Affairs.

A diverse career

Suzanne’s experience in the 红包电玩城 sector goes back to 1989 when she joined Gallaher Group Plc, and then went on to become Group Head of Legal in 2001.

After leaving Gallaher in 2007, Suzanne held the position of General Counsel & Company Secretary at Premier Foods Plc. She later extended her responsibilities to include Communications, Internal Audit and CSR. Suzanne was a member of the group’s Executive Board, sitting on the CSR Steering Committee and chairing the Risk Review Group and Policy Steering Group.

In 2012, she joined Network Rail Plc as Group General Counsel and Company Secretary. As an Executive Committee member, Suzanne was also responsible for Legal Services, Transparency & Business Ethics, Freedom of Information, Business Change and Information Governance.

Suzanne holds a degree in Law from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom.

Wade Wright began his legal career in 1988 as a litigator with the Tulsa, Oklahoma, law firm of Hall Estill, and later in the Washington DC office of Milbank Tweed and the Atlanta office of Jones Day. He is an active member of the bar in Washington DC, Georgia, and Oklahoma.

Wade holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Seton Hall University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Oklahoma.

Bilgehan Anlas was appointed to his current position in October 2018. He is responsible for the overall MENEAT operations, as well as for Worldwide Duty-Free business.

Experience 
A Turkish national, Bilgehan joined JTI’s Executive Committee as Senior Vice President of Global Supply Chain in October 2015 and in July 2016, his role was expanded to include responsibility of our global leaf operations. He was named General Manager for the Turkish Market at the end of 2004, playing a key role in significantly growing the market share of the Company. In 2002, he took up the position of Head of the Global Supply Chain Manufacturing Region for the MENEAT region and Worldwide Duty-Free, also based in Turkey.

In 1999, Bilgehan moved from Kazakhstan – where he had been promoted to Operations Director in 1998 – to Ukraine as the Head of Operations, where he strongly supported the company’s business growth. Bilgehan had already gained significant international experience from various roles in the Global Supply Chain at R.J. Reynolds, the company which he joined in 1992 as an engineer. 

Bilgehan holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Yildiz Technical University of Istanbul and also participated in the Business Administration Specialization Program of the Istanbul University Economics Institute.

Yves Barbier

Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales

Yves joined JTI’s Executive Committee as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales, in September 2018. His responsibilities include overseeing the planning and development of all marketing and sales strategies and the global governance of JTI’s portfolio of brands. 

Experience
Yves brings a wealth of marketing and commercial experience in his career at JTI. Before taking up his current role, he led JTI’s French market from February 2016. For the two years prior to that, Yves served as Deputy Chief Brand Officer responsible for Camel, Mevius, Sobranie, B&H, Silk Cut, as well as RYO-MYO. In 2012, he was asked to lead the Mevius brand globally, having been responsible for the Camel brand since 2009.


In 2004, Yves became the Marketing and Sales lead for the Benelux cluster of markets, which followed on from his 2001 appointment as the Marketing Director for Winston globally. Yves began his career with JTI as a Marketing Manager for our Middle East business in December 1998 and before joining JTI, he worked for LVMH and the Swatch Group in Asia.


Yves holds a master’s degree in Business from NEOMA Business School and an MBA in Marketing and Brand Management from the University of Kent, United Kingdom. 
 

As our industry goes through an unprecedented pace and scale of change, JTI must anticipate and exceed customer expectations. Antoine Ernst was appointed as JTI’s Chief Transformation Officer in June 2018. He is responsible for preserving the core value of JTI’s expertise and securing its future commercial achievements.

Experience
Prior to his current role, in 2016 Antoine was appointed to the Executive committee, leading Marketing and Sales for JTI. A French national, Antoine became General Manager for our Russian business in 2013 and for Ukraine from 2010.

Before this, he was Vice President, Strategic Planning in Research and Development, having also served as Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Corporate Communications. Antoine joined our head office in Geneva in 2006 as the lead of Winston, relocating from Greece where he was General Manager since 2004. Prior to that, he was based in Moscow for five years as Head of Marketing. He joined our company in Ukraine in 1996 as Marketing Director.

Antoine began his career in 1990 working for Seagram – Chivas & Glenlivet group, Perrier-Jouët and Mumm champagnes – in San Francisco, London and Paris.

Antoine is a graduate of the Institut Européen des Affaires in Paris, France.

Stefan Fitz
Regional President, Western Europe

Stefan Fitz was appointed Regional President, Western Europe, in October 2018.

Experience 
Stefan has acquired an expert’s knowledge of the 红包电玩城 sector over many years at JTI. An Austrian national, he was appointed to the role of JTI’s Regional President, Asia Pacific in 2010 and has been an Executive Committee member since 2007, when he became JTI’s Regional President, Central Europe. Prior to Gallaher’s integration into JTI, Stefan was Managing Director, Central Europe – a position he had assumed in 2001 – having first played a major role in the integration of Austria Tabak into Gallaher.

Before this, Stefan was the General Manager of Austria Tabak’s 红包电玩城 Division, a position which he held from 1999. He first joined the company in 1995 as Managing Director of the International Business, having begun his career in 1992 with Henkel Austria. 

Stefan is a graduate of the Vienna Business University.

Marchant Kuys is a South African national, promoted to our Executive Committee as Regional President of the Americas in January 2016.

Marchant joined us in 2001 as Finance Director for South Africa before being promoted to the position of General Manager in 2003.

In 2006, he was appointed as Director General of the Ukraine, Caucasus, Moldova, Belarus and Central Asia markets. When JTI acquired Gallaher in 2007, Marchant was appointed as General Manager for Ukraine, overseeing the integration of the Gallaher business in that country.

In 2010, Marchant was appointed to the position of General Manager of Taiwan.

Previous experience

Marchant has more than 25 years of experience in Finance and General Management in Southern Africa, Eastern Europe & Asia.

He earned his Chartered Accountant designation after an apprenticeship with Coopers & Lybrand, beginning in 1985.

In 1990 he began his commercial career with finance management positions at Cadbury Schweppes, progressing through the organization before joining Avis Fleet Services as Finance Director in 1998.

Marchant holds a business degree and a post-graduate diploma in Accounting from the University of Port Elizabeth.

Yves Barbier

Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales

Yves joined JTI’s Executive Committee as Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales, in September 2018. His responsibilities include overseeing the planning and development of all marketing and sales strategies and the global governance of JTI’s portfolio of brands. 

Experience
Yves brings a wealth of marketing and commercial experience in his career at JTI. Before taking up his current role, he led JTI’s French market from February 2016. For the two years prior to that, Yves served as Deputy Chief Brand Officer responsible for Camel, Mevius, Sobranie, B&H, Silk Cut, as well as RYO-MYO. In 2012, he was asked to lead the Mevius brand globally, having been responsible for the Camel brand since 2009.


In 2004, Yves became the Marketing and Sales lead for the Benelux cluster of markets, which followed on from his 2001 appointment as the Marketing Director for Winston globally. Yves began his career with JTI as a Marketing Manager for our Middle East business in December 1998 and before joining JTI, he worked for LVMH and the Swatch Group in Asia.


Yves holds a master’s degree in Business from NEOMA Business School and an MBA in Marketing and Brand Management from the University of Kent, United Kingdom.

Hiroyuki Miki is a Japanese national, appointed to JTI’s Executive Committee as Senior Vice President Research and Development in January 2016.

He was promoted to the position of Vice President of Product Development in 2012, before moving back to Geneva in 2014 to become our Vice President of Product Strategy. Hiroyuki holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Applied Chemistry from the School of Science & Engineering at Waseda University.

Jorge da Motta was appointed to his current position in October 2018. He is responsible for all marketing, personnel and operational procedures in the region.

Experience 
Jorge has a raft of international experience, garnered from an extensive career with JTI and other large and successful companies. A South African and Belgian national, Jorge was appointed JTI’s Regional President of Middle East, Near East, Africa, Turkey and Worldwide Duty Free in 2016. He joined the Excom in 2014 as Regional President Central Europe, based in Geneva. Prior to this he had been the General Manager for the UK, a role he took up in 2013 and which followed his tenure as Regional Sales and Marketing Vice President for the Asia Pacific Region in Hong Kong. 

Jorge has also served JTI in Russia, where in 2007 he moved to Moscow to lead the Sales and Marketing team. In 2005, he was appointed to the role of General Manager for Tanzania, the same year and shortly after he joined the company as Sales and Marketing Director. 

Before he began his career with JTI, Jorge held a series of increasingly senior positions within several multinationals including Kimberly Clark, SAB Miller and Frito-Lay. His first role was in 1982, when he joined Cadbury in South Africa as a marketing trainee. 

Jorge holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.
 

In the Asia Pacific region, JTI is growing both organically and by way of major acquisitions. I am proud to be leading the way for JTI and I am determined to see the company further grow and flourish in this region.

Andrew Newton

Senior Vice President, Global Supply Chain

Andrew Newton was appointed to his current position in October 2018. His role encompasses the development and implementation of all strategies and action plans to improve the productivity, quality and efficiency of JTI’s Global Supply Chain operations.

Experience
Andrew has dedicated much of his professional life to JTI. A British national, from 2014 until 2018, he served as JTI’s Vice President, Global Manufacturing. From 2009 to 2014, Andrew was Vice President for Manufacturing for the Commonwealth of Independent States and General Director of the Petro factory, based in Russia. He was also Vice President, Manufacturing for the UK and Americas, between 2008 and 2009, having been appointed Vice President, Global Manufacturing – before the role was restructured and expanded – in 2006, based at JTI’s HQ. 

In 2005, Andrew became Vice President, Manufacturing for the Middle East, Near East, Africa and Turkey region and its factories, after having served as the Director of Manufacturing Services for the Petro factory from 2001 to 2004. Andrew was Factory Director in Tanzania between 1998 and 2001, a post he had previously held in Hong Kong from 1996. 

He was Director for Global Capacity Planning at RJ Reynolds International between 1995 and 1996 in Geneva, and began his career with JTI in Customer Services and Logistics in 1993. 

Before joining JTI, Andrew has held several senior positions in logistics and operations for companies such as Fruit of the Loom in France and for the five years before that, with Tomy France and Bouygues in Saudia Arabia and Algeria and Trocon Engineering Services, also in Saudi Arabia. 

Andrew holds a degree in Business Administration from CESEM (Groupe ESC Reims, France), having previously gained a degree from Middlesex Polytechnic, United Kingdom.

He was appointed Regional President of the CIS+ region in 2013. In October 2017 the CIS+ region was expanded and renamed Eastern Europe.
